On 29 July, a representative from our Community Team attended the launch of the Barnsley Street Neighbourhood Mental Health Centre at the Brady Arts and Community Centre in Tower Hamlets.

At the event, Community Ambassador Mohammed Badruddoza introduced the Community Assist programme and discussed ways to collaborate with and empower other local organisations in the area, offering information and guidance about the support available for people wanting to travel independently on the DLR network.

The DLR Community Assist programme focuses on accessibility, families, schools, community, confidence, employment, and technology, reflecting our strong commitment to supporting the diverse needs of those we serve.

London Borough of Tower Hamlets is one of six areas across England selected by NHS England to pilot a new 24/7 mental health support model. The centre is designed to offer timely, person-centred care, helping residents access the right support early and reducing the need for hospital admissions or time spent in the emergency department (A&E).

Now officially open, the Barnsley Street Hub provides accessible, community-based mental health support for those registered with a GP in Bethnal Green.
